Diving the Canyon in Dahab: Where Buoyancy Really Matters

The Canyon starts with a shallow sandy lagoon, continues through a coral garden and reaches the long fracture that gives the site its name. PADI descriptions place a common entrance around 18–20 metres, while the exact route and depth depend on training, conditions and the dive plan.
Inside a tighter space, weak buoyancy becomes obvious. A fin touching sand can reduce visibility for everyone; poor trim can damage the reef or push a diver deeper than intended. Move slowly, keep fins clear and do not enter every opening simply because it is there.
For photographers, the famous beams of light work best when the team leaves room and avoids stirring the bottom. A wide lens usually suits the structure better than chasing subjects in confined space.
Tell the guide honestly about recent dives and comfort in overhead-like environments. The Canyon can be beautiful without turning the dive into a test of ego.
