15 Real Places in Dahab and Sinai, Chosen by What You Love Doing

Choose South Sinai by activity, not by a checklist. For diving: Lighthouse for an easy logistical start; Canyon for dramatic structure; Bells and the Blue Hole for an advanced guided wall dive; Islands for coral passages; Gabr el Bint for a remote southern day. For hiking: the Blue Hole–Ras Abu Galum coast; Colored Canyon; White Canyon and Ain Khudra; Mount Sinai; Mount St Catherine; Bab al-Donya; and sections of the Sinai Trail. For wind and climbing: Dahab Lagoon and the Blue Lagoon for wind sports when conditions fit; Wadi Gnai for guided sport climbing and bouldering. For nature and history: Nabq’s mangroves, Saint Catherine’s Monastery and Salah al-Din Castle on Pharaoh’s Island. You cannot experience all fifteen properly in one short holiday. Pick one main hobby, add one contrasting day, and leave enough empty time for Dahab itself. Good travel in Sinai is not measured by how many pins you collected.
