Where to Stay in Dahab: Assala, Lighthouse, Mashraba or Laguna?

In Dahab, the neighbourhood shapes the trip more than the hotel’s star rating. Lighthouse and the Masbat promenade put you close to dive centres, cafés and the busiest evening walk. Assala feels more residential and suits longer, slower stays. Mashraba mixes accommodation, restaurants and nightlife, while Laguna is the practical choice when sandy beach time, windsurfing or kitesurfing is the priority.
Start with the reason you are travelling. Divers often value walking distance to Lighthouse and their chosen dive centre. Riders save time by staying nearer the lagoon. Long-stay visitors may prefer Assala’s groceries, everyday rhythm and quieter streets.
Before booking, check the exact pin rather than trusting “ten minutes from the centre.” Measure the walk to the dive centre, watersports base or part of town you will use daily. Dahab is compact, but choosing the right area can save several taxi rides and make the whole week feel easier.
